As Glasgow’s only 5 star hotel, The Principal Blythswood Square Hotel sets the standard pretty high. Located right in the heart of the shopping district, it’s minutes away from Buchanan Street so it’s perfect for those coming to spend a weekend in Glasgow and want to not only relax, and be pampered, but also have easy access to the rest of the city.

We fell in love with the hotel the moment that we stepped foot inside. And while we had gotten to the hotel way too early to check, the staff directed us to the spa downstairs to freshen up if we needed. Having just gone through a extensive renovation (which added 12 rooms), the property leaves nothing to be desired.

The rooms are beautifully decorated with Harris Tweed furnishings and Elemis toiletries (which smell divine) and have luxurious beds that makes you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. The gym and spa which, as one of the few Glasgow hotels with a pool, also has a sauna that melts all your aches and pains away.

 

Noted Features:

The Salon is recognized and awarded for its inventive cocktails  and renowned for its champagne collection. It also hosts not the city’s best afternoon tea, where guests can lounge in Harris Tweed chairs, and enjoy the views across the leafy square.

The Restaurant at Blythswood Square  has a perfectly curated menu made of high quality Scottish classics.The breakfast spread is delicious and abundant and one of the best smoothies we’ve had at any hotel, ever. Located  on the ground floor, the restaurant is perfect for almost any occasion from afternoon tea, brunch, lunch or dinner, and one of the main reasons that this is where you should stay in Glasgow.

The Spa is perfect for those looking for a relaxing break will love the thermal experience – the vitality pool and the crystal steam room are noteworthy highlights.
