Hotel Review: The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown – Washington, DC

If you’ve ever been to Georgetown in Washington, DC you’ll know what we mean when we say it’s an unexpected little slice of heaven on earth, which we found about when arrived in DC from Philadelphia in the afternoon and got settled into the stunning Ritz-Carlton Georgetown where we were staying for the night.

It was as if Georgetown was showing off for us; alongside the canal or river, there were ducks and turtles and fish. The weather was perfect, the parks are stunning, and we were treated to not only a sunset but a rainbow as well.

Georgetown is truly a little piece of bliss, and it’s made all the more blissful with The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown - Washington, DC

Tucked away on a quiet street, surrounded by beautiful urban gardens, the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown is a quiet, refined and beautiful sanctuary for business and pleasure travelers alike.

Upon check-in, we were greeted with offers of bottles of water to beat the heat in the gorgeous lobby. The staff were attentive and checked us in from the sofas where we were invited to take a seat.

We hardly wanted to leave the beautiful lobby. Once a factory, the building was restored into its modern-day splendor, and you can catch glimpses of the rustic factory in the modern yet classic decor.

When we arrived in our room, we were delighted to see that the understated elegance carried through to the guest rooms. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with the most inviting bathtub.

The service is, as we had come to expect from this wonderful chain of hotels, impeccable. Our room came equipped with an adorable chocolate display to welcome us to the hotel, which we paused to take pictures of an admire only momentarily before diving in.

After a restful sleep in the luxuriously comfortable beds, we were fortunate to start our day in the peaceful Urban Garden for an hour of wonderful, hands-on yoga that left us feeling relaxed and rejuvenated before brunch.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown hosts the most perfect afternoon activity in the form of fireside s’mores, where the Living Room bar serves the most lavish s’mores – all complementary. Foodies as we are, the Weekend Brunch is right up our alley, as it consists of the most amazing food line-up. Add a $30 and it’s complete with bottomless mimosas or bloody marys to start the day off right.

It’s truly an amazing deal and the most perfect way to start your day in Georgetown.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip, not only for the rooms and the beauty of the hotel but also for the service and the perfect yoga brunch.

We’d stay here again in a heartbeat – in fact, we wouldn’t bother staying anywhere else.
