Hotel Excelsior Naples Hotel Review

We visited Naples after Florence, and the hustle and bustle of the city is in stark contrast to the small-town feel of Florence.

Even despite the busy feel of Naples, you’d be hard pressed to find a better location for your stay than Hotel Excelsior.

Right on the Bay of Naples, the hotel enjoys a very close proximity to a promenade on the beach. Because of it’s location, many of the rooms boast the best views in the entire city.

We stayed in a beautiful suite facing the water and enjoyed a stunning sunset on both nights of our stay.

We were told by our taxi driver that the Hotel Excelsior is the best known hotel in all of Naples. We’re not surprised. The hotel has been around since 1908, and the whole building is tastefully decorated and refined.

When we arrived, the staff were courteous and efficient, showing us to our room quickly.

Our room was huge, boasting a large bed, a seating area, a bathroom with a deep tub, a safe, and a balcony facing the water.

Impeccably clean and very comfortable, we hardly wanted to leave the room.

Even better, the hotel is within walking distance from bars, restaurants, gelaterias, cafes and attractions. But you don’t have to leave the hotel to have a great meal. The restaurant at Hotel Excelsior also has stunning views and amazing food. If you are in the mood for something a bit smaller, the lounge in the lobby has a laid back but still upscale vibe, perfect for a snack or a cocktail after sight seeing all day.

The breakfast served by the hotel is a buffet on the main floor and has a hugely wide range of options. You can enjoy everything from eggs to pastries, and the staff will be happy to make you a cappuccino or latte.

Hotel Excelsior is definitely the best place we stayed in Naples and we would recommend it to anybody.
