We started Darling Escapes in 2014 to help women travel smarter. What began as an Instagram account is now a full resource for millennial women who believe in affordable luxury.

We help you travel well without overspending or sacrificing style.
We share destination guides, packing tips, and travel strategies that actually work. The kind of advice you’d get from a friend who just got back from an incredible trip and can’t wait to tell you everything.

Meet the Founder


Hi, I’m Marissa! I started Darling Escapes in 2014 because I was tired of travel advice that was either wildly impractical or boring as hell. I wanted to create a space where women could find real, useful tips for traveling well.

I’ve spent the last decade exploring countless countries, making plenty of packing mistakes, discovering hidden gems, and learning that the best trips are the ones where you’re fully present. When I’m not traveling, you’ll find me planning the next adventure, hunting down the perfect croissant, or testing out yet another packing cube system (yes, I have a problem).

While I spend my days working in emerging tech, you might also find me exploring and showing off my city as a Destination Toronto Social Ambassador. When I’m not planning my next trip, I’m usually geeking out over personal finance spreadsheets, on the field playing soccer or diving into the latest scientific breakthroughs.
