5 Travel Related Things That You Need To Do This Year
Chances are that you have something related to travel on your resolutions this year. We all do. Travel is the greatest gifts that we can give ourselves, but instead of heading down south on an all-inclusive trip, here are a few ways to get the most out of your escapes this year.
1. Take a solo trip.
We’re all about sharing experiences with friends and family, but there’s nothing like travelling by yourself. Not only do you get to learn what you like, and don’t like, but it’s a great way to step outside of your comfort zone. Actually, it’s a great way to figure out where you comfort zone even starts.
2. Go somewhere you didn’t think of going.
Expand your bucket list. There’s a great big world out there, and there are places that you’ll fall in love with that you’re not even aware of yet. Have your explored your own backyard yet? How about Africa? Or South America?
3. Set up base in a foreign land.
There’s nothing more magical than trying to set up home- however long that might be for- in a completely new place. How amazing would it be to rent an apartment in Marrakech for a few weeks, or house sitting in Eastern Europe. While being on the road can be exhilarating, travel also involves getting a new location very intimately.
4. Find your travel pace.
Someone people can see 2 countries in a week, and others spend a month to explore a country and still not have enough time. We get so hung up on our country counts, that we can forget to slow our pace and get to know the beauty of the place we travelled so far to get to.
5. Watch the tourists.
One of the most magical places to sit and people is in steps in Times Square. Not only does it make you slow and see the hustle and bustle of the crowd frantically trying to capture everything with their cameras instead of their eyes.
